ENGLISH TEACHER
SETAC Ltd is looking for a qualified English Language Teacher to teach a class of 15 women students over a 12 week period. The course will be delivered 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 12 pm. Position is based at Henderson, Waitakere and there will be three such batches a year.
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Skills Required:
- Preference will be for candidates who will have an understanding of women surviving domestic violence
- Able to work in a cross cultural environment with diverse refugee and migrant women
- CELTA Qualified.

LEGAL ADVISOR - Fixed Term
Position is based at Auckland. Full-time : 35 hours a week, 9am-4pm. Hours are negotiable. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Past experience in a women's organisation would be an advantage. Training would be provided.
Skills Required:
- Prefer candidate with educational background either in Family Law.
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of some government legislation, policies and regulations.
- Providing Client Support - Ensure all support for the clients according to their requirements which may include Immigration and other social services.
- Following Organisational Quality Assurance Standards.
- Report Writing Skills
- Good telephone skills.
- Networking, lobbying Skills.
- Administration skills
- Understanding of cross cultural environment
- Full driving license
- Multi-lingual (with knowledge of at least one Asian, African or Middle Eastern language apart from English)

REGIONAL COORDINATOR (X2)
Shakti has vacancies for two positions of Regional Coordinators, one is based in Christchurch and one based in Auckland. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Though past experience of having worked in womens organizations in New Zealand/overseas will be an advantage, appropriate training will be provided to the right candidate.
Skills Required:
- Able to advocate for women's issues and human rights
- Preference will be for candidate with educational background either in Women & Gender Studies, Law, Counseling, Social Policies or Social Work
- People management skills
- Should ideally have a women-centric perspective
- Have decision-making skills
- Be able to coordinate crisis work
- Be able to coordinate and manage a multilingual team, regionally (with knowledge of at least one Asian/Middle Eastern language apart from English)
- Full driving license preferred
PROJECT COORDINATOR - FAMILY SETTLEMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES CENTRE
Position is based at Auckland. Fixed Term, 15 hours a week, for a period of 3 months. Hours are negotiable. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Past experience in community-based project involving men would be an advantage.

YOUTH ADVOCATE
Shakti Community Council is looking for an efficient student/ graduate to assist in developing and facilitating support programmes for ethnic children in domestic violence situations.
Position is paid part-time/fulltime: 14 to 28 hours a week, 9am-4pm. Hours are negotiable.
Skills Required:
- Prefer candidate with educational background either in Social Work, Women & Gender Studies, Law or Social Policy
- Excellent computer skills
- Report Writing Skills
- Good telephone skills and networking capacity
- Administration skills
- Understanding of cross cultural environment
- Full driving license
- Multi-lingual (with knowledge of at least one Asian, African or Middle Eastern language apart from English)

Family Settlement & Social Services Support Worker
Position is based at Auckland, Part Time . Training would be provided.

Residential Maintenance Worker
Position is based at Auckland, Part Time
Skills Required:
- Prefer candidate with Understanding of cross cultural environment.
- Multi-lingual (with knowledge of at least one Asian, African or Middle Eastern language apart from English).
- With experience and skills doing house maintenance cleaning.
WOMEN'S ADVOCATE
Position is based at Christchurch. Part Time : 17 hours a week. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Training would be provided.

VOLUNTEERS FOR SHAKTI
Shakti Community Council is looking for an efficient and enthusiastic persons/volunteers representing the different ethnic communities (Asians, Africans and Middle East) based in Tauranga, Christchurch and Auckland to assist Shakti's staff in providing support services to ethnic women and children victims of domestic violence in areas of language translation, Crisis pick-up, telephone counseling etc. Interested volunteers should have a feminist perspective, passion to work in the Human Rights area, able to advocate and stand up for women's rights / issues.
Hours are negotiable. Training and transport expenses will be provided.
