History
Shakti Migrant Community Education Centre Inc. (formerly the Asian and African Women Community Education Centre) has its origins in the Shakti Asian Women's Support Group set up in 1995 by migrant women in New Zealand . The Centre was established with the ideology of providing a safe and culturally appropriate environment for Ethnic Women to meet and acquire Life Skills.
