JOB TITLE
Community risk management coordinator/casework (Wellington)
Key Tasks/Job Description:
- Work closely with Shakti social workers/refuge/crisisline to receive clients for Community Risk Management Program. Work closely with allied Domestic Violence/Family Violence services, coordinate with external service providers and students, and promote healthy settlement for the clients.
- Community Risk Management Safety planning – Ensuring safety, including alarm installation and alarm removal.
- Available to work on Crisisline duty 24/7 service (Afterhours, weekends, or public holidays)
- Available to work based on a roster for crisis attendance.
Community Safety Planning:
- Ensuring Safety – Provide alarms (installations and removals), and other relevant safety such as MOJ safety program.
Community risk assessment:
- Creates Action Plan
- Monitoring the action plan and implementation.
- Assessment of action plan, assessing risk.
- Evaluating the action plan.
- Take appropriate action according to the policy for ensuring safety.
- Organising moving of clients in the community who pose risk.
- Work with other allied services for client’s future development like:
- Education/developing life skill:
- Emotional support i.e. counseling and MOJ programme.
- Familiar to navigate EXESS.
- Work closely with the allied services to achieve maximum support for the client’s skill development, employment, and settlement in New Zealand.
2. Promote settlement in the community, employment, education, integration, financial independence, safety (both emotional & environment).
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
▪ Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Criminology studies.
▪ Work experience in the Domestic Violence/Family Violence sector in New Zealand or Overseas.
▪ Preferably Mandarin or Arabic-speaking person.
▪ Have a full, valid Driver License and own transport.
▪ Be passionate about working with women and children and ensuring their safety while promoting women’s empowerment.
▪ Be able to work well under pressure; prioritise effectively and be confident in making decisions that impact on clients’ well-being.
▪ Be a good team player and support team mates proactively when required.
▪ Open to understanding the complex dynamics surrounding family and gender-based violence and have a women’s rights perspective.
▪ Have a fair understanding, be empathetic and have a patient manner of working in a cross-cultural environment.
▪ Be proficient in spoken and written English language skills.

JOB TITLE
Regional Refuge Service Delivery Manager – Central North Island Region (Tauranga Moana, Bay of Plenty to Wellington Region)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

NZ-recognised Social Work qualification or overseas, and registration with New Zealand’s Social Work Registration Board will be beneficial.

Experience working with the Government Department or NGO set up with women and children in New Zealand or Internationally.

Experience working with domestic violence services.

NZ Permanent Resident/Citizen

Experience in managing crisis intervention. Knowledge of EEO principles and work safety.

Strong management skills.

Proficiency in English Language -verbal and written. Fluency in at least one Asian, Middle Eastern or African language (Hindi, Arabic, or Mandarin speaking will be beneficial).

Be passionate about working with women and children and ensuring their safety while promoting social equality.

Familiar with EXESS and the ability to use business support software.

Strong leadership skills and attention to detail.

Have full Driving Licence and own vehicle.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work cohesively and collaboratively with the National Refuge Service Delivery Manager, Regional Refuge Service Delivery Managers, Refuge Managers/Coordinators, Social Workers/Case Workers, and Regional Admin Coordinator to develop plans and strategies to achieve a common goal and sustainable outcomes for the organisation.

Provide leadership, guidance, supervision and coaching (one to one or Group) to the social workers and Regional Refuge Coordinators, and Refuge Managers.

Strategic Leadership: To plan service delivery in tune with the organisation’s strategic direction and maximise the safety of those seeking our Refuge services.

Implementation of best practice guideline, developed by (SDETAC + MSD collaboration)

Build and enhance a positive work culture across the team, that supports continuous learning and improvement through review of case studies and ongoing feedback.
PURPOSE:
Provide high level leadership to Shakti’s Refuge Service Delivery regionally in line with Shakti’s vision and mission by promoting best practice standards in supporting, servicing and enabling the empowerment of ethnic women and their children in situations of domestic violence.
Networking:
-
Participate in network meetings and conferences aimed at promoting the rights of ethnic women to live free of fear and free of violence and represent Shakti accordingly. Maintaining positive relationships with Stakeholders.

To advocate for cultural competency, spread cultural awareness about various ethnic communities and promote cross cultural understanding between wider communities.

Networking & representing Shakti in the domestic violence sector in New Zealand nationally. Monitoring and Reporting Monitoring social workers and Refuge Coordinator staff numbers meet client requirements and demand. Organisational practice standards are kept in accordance with MSD, MOJ and NZQA approval requirements.
