Farida Sultana, founder of the Shakti Community Council New Zealand and Australia entered in New Zealand History!  After having the privilege of being part of the 125 years of suffrage exhibition in Auckland Domain now Farida is in actual New Zealand History. Since 1995 when She founded Shakti, the organization has come a long way and we are all proud to be part of this journey along with her.

Shila Nair our Senior Advisor & Counselor and  She is a member of  Te Uepū Hāpai i te Ora – the Safe and Effective Justice Advisory Group. Shakti is so proud of Shila who is the only women of color participating in the advisory group!

Rupal Mehta was recognised for dedicating her years of efforts volunteering with us in the Bay of Plenty region.  She was presented with the medal 2018 local Kiwibank Local Hero Award in Tauranga.
